Regional Sales Managers
We're currently building out a new nationwide sales force, beginning with regional sales managers in the following territories:

Pacific Northwest - Washington, Oregon, Idaho

Northeast - New England, New Jersey, New York State

We're looking for a personable professional with solid prior experience in pet products or natural foods sales leadership. This position will provide support to customers by sharing in-depth product knowledge at the store level and balancing the needs of stores with efficient communication, development and management of distributor relationships and systems. The role also involves ride-alongs with distributor reps for training.
In addition, our Regional Managers will be responsible for identifying and training product demo reps for stores and community events within their region as well as utilizing trade spend to proactively set up new accounts and grow same-store sales with innovative, brand-compatible promotions.
The position entails a high volume of travel.
Applicants:
- *Must have a proven track record in leading and motivating a small regional sales team, ideally within the pet industry
- Understand and anticipate customers' needs, and develop appropriate sales & promotional tactics utilizing a discretionary budget.
- Have excellent reporting skills
- Be familiar with and able to integrate with and navigate, regional pet distributors' internal systems,
- Strike a rapport with store managers, and the public when applicable
- Be naturally friendly, insightful and have a positive outlook.
- Be a fast learner and have an existing understanding of the 'indie' novel pet foods category (raw, freeze dried and dehydrated products).
- Understand and embrace our 'no sales to puppy mill stores' policy

Finance
The Honest Kitchen is looking for an Accounting Specialist. We are a pet friendly work establishment located downtown in the East Village. Ideal candidate would be energetic, punctual, dependable, self-sufficient and able to multi-task. Major responsibilities include:

Assist with Accounting activities; coordinate monthly and year-end closings and audits
-
Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining Accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely statements that are in alignment with GAAP Accounting principles

Continually monitor process, systems, and workflow for improvement as well as make recommendations for change to management and implement plans
-
Plan, organize, and direct timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for management
-
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
-
Complete weekly check runs and check mailings
-
Regular interaction with the executive team and other senior level positions internally
Qualifications: The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2-3 years of experience in Accounting with a medium to large sized company

A CPA is preferred

A knowledge of SAP Business One is preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
