A Message from the President
Passion & Principles
I founded The Honest Kitchen in 2002. I had begun making a homemade raw diet for my Rhodesian Ridgeback, Mosi, but found it quite time consuming and frequently ended up with a very messy kitchen! I set out to find a way to make fresh, healthy pet food much quicker and simpler to prepare - and the answer was to dehydrate the ingredients.
Our Passion is Animals. They’re part of our lives and the focus of everything we do at The Honest Kitchen. We’re also pretty passionate about our products. Our dehydrated pet foods are made from the most pristine, whole-food ingredients available. We make our products as a labor of love and have put our heart and soul into building a strong brand, based on the foundations of product integrity and honesty.
Our Principles are simple. We will only produce our pet foods using the gentle method of dehydration to remove just the moisture from our whole food ingredients. We will always raise the bar in choosing our raw ingredients and never leave procurement to anyone else. We’ll respect our planet by choosing organic ingredients whenever we can and always choose sustainability over cost – like our free-range chicken and line-caught wild haddock, fair-trade quinoa, non-genetically-modified produce and recycled, compostable packaging.
We continue donating a portion of our profits to charity every month. Learn more about what we're doing to Protect our Playground.
