My lonh haired Chi, Oliver is a slow and picky eater while his brother, Gus (short hair Chi) will eat anything. Lily, our rescue Pom, loves food but has severe dental issues with breath that can clear a room. I've always fed very high quality kibble mixed with raw but felt we could do much better. I remembered trying a sample of Honest Kitchen years ago and decided to give it a try. From the first feeding of Verve, my dogs have been in heaven. Oliver comes running now when its mealtime and all three carry their bowls around after eating. Lily has clean breath for the first time ever! It's only been two weeks but I already see a difference in coats, energy and in general. They love all the flavors in the sample package but Verve is their favorite. Thank you, Honest Kitchen. Three happy little dogs = one very happy Mom.

I ordered a sample for my dog when she started to not eat her regular food. After reading about Honest Kitchen and thought the food would be nutritional and be enough to make her start eating again. I also like that I could buy a sample. Most food brands have a "satisfaction guarantee" but its a whole thing to return uneaten food and get refunds. While my dog did eat the food, she wasn't very excited about it. It smelled very herbal to me, and I kind of expected it to be meatier.

For the longest time I was going with purely grain free foods because my dog had such a strong reaction to corn and wheat, that I didn't even consider barley and oats! Recently my dog has been refusing her high-end kibble so I am switching her slowly to Verve and she's loving it, and having zero allergic reactions! I love that I can feed my dog humane beef regularly for a relatively low cost, as, alas, humane beef is very expensive in my area.

What can I say to convey how much my dogs love this food? They eat every last drop of their dinner. Originally I purchased this for our French Bulldog who regurgitates his food. It has been six days since we have had an episode and we are so happy with The Honest Kitchen.

Red is a Hungarian Wirehaired Viszla, 4 years and 7 months old. Aprox. 9 months ago he started having seizures, not frequent but very concerning. Our vet suggested starting him on meds, but I did not want to go down that route until I examined our choices.. A friend who breeds these dogs told me she had changed all her dogs to Honest Kitchen and everyone was happy. I switched him over and he loves the food.
Verve is definitely his absolute favorite. He likes the texture. Once it has been mixed it has some body to it and I think he likes that in his food. We tried the chicken, but he was really luke warm on it and I had to add other things to give it bulk. So Red says keep the Verve coming.
Since changing Red over to this food and adding a holistic supplement we have controled the frequency of seizures One in December and none since then. It's a win win.
1 10.lb. box lasts aprox. 20 days @ 1 1/2 cups per serving. He gets fed twice daily, he wouldn't have it any other way.

My 12 year old Airedale was starting to get an increasingly sensitive stomach even on so called "holistic" quality dry foods. I work in pet retail and know a lot about the different food options and always gave him a variety of brands of dry food and some frozen raw. After his last bout of vomiting, and the usual chicken and rice to settle his stomach, I made the decision to get him onto THK foods, in part because I knew it was all human grade and minimally processed, but not as high fat as some raw diets can be. We tried the Keen first, which he loved initially and even gained a little weight on. Unfortunately, I served it too him a little too hot a few times and he developed an aversion to the food on that basis--lesson learned!--I switched him to Verve and he has cleaned his plate ever since. He does great on it, good stools, healthy and happy. He gets Verve by itself, or sometimes mixed with an oven-baked synthetic-free kibble. He's had a few teeth pulled after he fractured them, so he does best with a mostly soft diet.

My dog loves this food (regardless of which flavor) but this version with the grains in it gives her more gas! We will probably stick to the grain free versions from here on out.

My frenchies love this stuff. They like it with less water when the food has a thick, sticky oatmeal-like consistency. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the bag inside the 4-lb box is not re-sealable. The powder leaks all over my cabinets.

I have 4 dogs and tree of them eat Verve. They love it. One does circles for his food. And the other stands up and moves his hands together begging or he jumps up to 4 ft. They love Verve, I love that they are happy.

Both of our Brittany Spaniels love this dog food. Our senior dog is almost 16 and she's unable to eat hard dog food, which is why we switched to the Honest Kitchen. It's really made a difference in the look and feel of their coats too. I highly recommend this brand and this flavor.

My Golden Retriever Mack loves the Verve dog food by Honest Kitchen! The only complaint he has is that he has to wait 3 minutes after I add water to the food and that is a long time in dog minutes!!! I am a veterinarian and I have been so impressed with this company and I love the convenience of their food. Thanks Honest Kitchen for all that you do!
