Sponsorship funding for F.I.D.O
December 15th 2006
San Diego, CA. The Honest Kitchen, Inc. announced today that it has commenced
sponsorship funding for F.I.D.O, the Fiesta Island Dog Owners group, which
is campaigning to ensure that the voices of San Diego’s dog owners
are heard, in the discussions for the $200m redevelopment of the city’s
natural habitat.
“…there is no known source for this money or the additional
expenses to maintain it! The city's financial situation is currently a
disaster. The Dept. of Park and Recreation has had to cut its staff, discontinue
programs and close neighborhood swimming pools due to lack of money. It
seems rather misguided to plan to spend millions of dollars on a park
that the majority of users think should just be left alone!” States
FIDO’s web site.
Fiesta Island is currently a haven for off leash use by the city’s
well-behaved dogs. The open space there is ideal for canines to exercise
and FIDO is concerned that the re-development will culminate in a drastic
reduction of the space where off leash use is permitted.

The Honest Kitchen, a pet food company with a difference, operates pet-friendly
offices in Pacific Beach. “Our company pets, who work so hard every
week, creating and tasting new recipes, love to run at Fiesta Island after
a long busy day at the office” commented Lucy Postins, the company’s
director of marketing. “We are pleased to be in a position to support
this vitally important, community cause, which is truly dear to our hearts”.
During the coming weeks, a corporate team from The Honest Kitchen will
be handing out product samples and helping to spread the word about the
importance of ensuring that this beautiful habitat is developed with sensitivity
and consideration for all who use it, including those who treasure it
as a haven for off-leash use.
