San Diego, Calif. (May, 2013) The Honest Kitchen, maker of all natural pet foods, treats and supplements, has announced the re-launch of its famous Ice Pups make-at-home treats in brand new packaging, which amplifies the product’s many uses as a treat for all seasons.

The new packaging, which consists of individual single-serve pouches packed in a paperboard box, incorporates vibrant graphics that show step by step instructions on to how to make a cool drink or ice cube treats, during the summer, as well as a warming broth in winter.

“We really wanted to re-create the packaging to show customers how simple it is to make Ice Pups, by adding water, or freezing it in ice cube trays,” explained Lucy Postins, The Honest Kitchen’s founder and CEO. “Ice Pups is immensely popular in the summer months, we get lots of feedback about novel ways consumers serve it to their dogs and cats, and th3e new packaging plays up the playful side of the product.”

The powdery mix of dehydrated human grade chicken, turkey, whey, dandelion, asparagus, watercress, honey and parsley has earned a cult following since it was first launched about seven years ago.

Ice Pups is ideal to help hydrate pets during the summer months, especially as a frozen treat after returning from hikes or trips to the beach. It’s also popular served as a beverage on road trips, camping adventures and at summer puppy parties.

In addition to its uses as a recreational liquid or frozen treat, Ice Pups is also highly sought-after for dogs and cats with kidney problems or for post-operative recovery when they benefit from increased fluid intake.

Ice Pups will be available to consumers in early May, just in time for warmer weather, and the product’s signature serving-style, as a frozen ice cube treat. Ice Pups will retail for $13.99 for a box of sixteen pouches, or $0.99 for a single serve packet, ideal for first-timers to try.
