Preference

Grain-free foundation diet for dogs of all breeds and sizes; add meat for a complete meal.

This natural dog food foundation diet was designed to be mixed with your choice of raw meat, meaty bones, or cooked meat. Preference is ideal for sensitive dogs, raw feeders, and dogs who many need a unique protein source. This diet contains a custom vitamin-mineral premix with balanced calcium: phosphorus ratios, which are vital for the maintenance of healthy cells, bones and blood.

Preference is made with just dehydrated fruits and vegetables. Like all of our diets, it’s 100% human-grade, made in the USA, and does not contain corn, soy, rice, beet pulp or wheat. Just add water and meat for a fresh, wholesome and human grade meal.

After losing a dog to tainted dog food in 2007, I began making my own dog food. Cooking all the different veggies pretty much took up the whole weekend. I was glad to learn about Preference. Now all I have to do is cook enough meat for the week in the pressure cooker and add it to freshly rehydrated Preference. I save the cooking broth and use it to rehydrate the Perference.

We’ve been using Preference for our 2 dogs for over a year now. We’ve been feeding a raw diet for about 3 years now and we used to make our own veggie and fruit mix to add to their meat. Since we started using Preference, it has saved us much time and effort to give our dogs what they need. This product is great and our vet says our dogs are the best looking (shiny coats) and the healthiest that she’s seen. We tell all of our dog owner friends about Preference and The Healthy Kitchen. Thank you for making such a great product!!

I have been feeding Preference to my Pugs for the last few years. One of my Pugs has a sensitive GI tract to everything else. I mix it with raw buffalo and turkey breast (both ground). They do backflips waiting for me to put the bowl down. On top of that, they both lost 5 pounds each and are finally at a steady healthy Pug weight. Their coats shine as well.

I feed both my dogs Love and decided to get a sample of the Preference for my Turtle. He absolutely loves it. When I put his food bowl down he actually comes running.

  5. Alex & Arthur says:

Although my Frenchie Arthur had some skin reactions from the Embark (I think it was the Turkey), it helped him with his stool so much that I couldn’t give up the brand. (He had chronic diarrhea from all kinds of kibble/wet food we tried…high quality wet/kibble)

He’s on the Preference now, and he loves it! He gobbles it all up, his coat and skin are healthy AND super poops!

Thank you!!!!! What a great food! My french bulldog has been on this for almost a year now – his health is fantastic and no more skin problems, ear infections etc. from allergies! his weight is perfect, his energy level is great and his coat looks amazing! we rotate between chicken, tuna & turkey as a meat and add in some fresh veggies or beans for variety as well as flax seed oil in the winter – but he is a happy healthy pup!

My dogs thrive on this and love it. I just add ground turkey to it.

My dog eats pre-made and homemade raw food, but I added Preference for variety, economy and convenience since it’s much easier than working out her non-meat/bone nutrition myself and I’m very lazy. She’s a ridiculously healthy dog so I wasn’t looking for any changes in terms of that, I was just worried that she wouldn’t like it since she’s never been a fan of my homemade vegetable mush. But she LOVES it. Probably in part because my cats eat The Honest Kitchen and she think she’s getting cat food (which is better than any other food in her mind, up there with tripe and cat poop). Whatever the reason, I’m very happy. Thanks!

My lab had to decrease some of her calories due to steroid induced hypothyroidism. Being that we already fed her a pretty limited diet as far as fat and calories go, cutting back even more was tough–after all, she’s a lab..she’s always hungry! Being able to bulk up her meal with this healthy veggie mix is a perfect way to fill her up but not OUT. It really comes in handy when I am low on fresh produce or am running late and don’t have time to wash and chop. I add it to her raw in the morning and with her grain free kibble or canned at dinner. I love..love that it is made with some organic, human grade ingredients and she really loves it. I mix a tablespoon or so with yogurt for a snack between meals. Great product. Perfect solution for us.
