Both of my dogs LOVE THK. In fact, I call it doggy crack. I am also thrilled that you have a few varieties that do not contain carrots. My Guinness is “Mr. Allergy”, and one of his allergies is to carrots, as well as brewer’s yeast. It is difficult to find quality dog foods that do not contain carrots. Keep up the good work! PS- Adopt, don’t shop!

Thrive iis THE ONLY commercial dog food I can find without flax seed, gluten, or potato in it. Perfect with raw meat mixed in for my food sensitive pooch. Please don’t ever change your recipe for thrive!

  3. Lucy says:

Sorry to hear that Bekah. The quinoa in Thrive does have quite a strong taste that some dogs take a while to get used to. Would you like us to mail you a sample of one of our other recipes? If so please just email samples@thehonestkitchen.com with your mailing address and we’ll send one out. I think Force or Keen would be great to try, as they are very tasty.

I got a sample of thrive at a pet store and when i gave it to my golden retriever, Brody, didn’t seem to like it at first. I let him lick the spoon I used to mix it and he had one lick and kind of backed off. I decided to mix it in with his dog food and he eat all of it and licked the bowl clean. When I went to give him his dinner (without Thrive) he wouldn’t eat it.
