I honestly think this food has saved my dog’s life. I have a 9 year old lab and a 6 year old Welsh Terrier. In October, the Welsh’s stomach bloated up, and tests showed she was losing protein. She could not keep food down, she was up and down throughout the night, and she lost her lively Terrier spunk. It broke my heart. She started prednisone and a diet of rice and fish (vet’s recommendation). While the swelling in her belly went down, her stool did not get better, and she still had to go out several times a night. I researched for several months about PLE in dogs and was coming to the conclusion, based on the information on the internet, that my welshie was probably only going to live a couple of more years at the most. But I continued my research, and one day, a couple of months ago, I found a forum of Grey Hound owners whose dogs had PLE and were on similiar medications as my welshie. A lot of the owners commented that they fed their dogs Force dog food. I did some reading about Force and thought, “What the heck. What do we have to lose.” I ordered a 4 pound bag, and as soon as it arrived mixed it up for my welsh. She loved it, and almost immidiately I noticed a change in her stool. After we finished the Force, I decided to give the Keen a go (it fits a little better into my budget). My welsh loved it as much as the Force. She now sleeps through the night, has solid stool during her morning and evening walk, is off the prednisone, her fur has started to grow back (a side effect of the prednisone), and her skin isn’t flaky and itching. I mix the Keen with a little white fish, and my welshie gobbles it up every meal. She looks amazing and is back to her spunky, silly, terrier ways. I realize her PLE may act up later on, but for now Ilove seeing her so happy and healthy, and I feel confident it is because of the Keen and the Force. I know if my welsh could, she would give The Honest Kitchen folks give big old slobbery kiss on the cheek
Thank you all so much, Allison & Rhiley
My dogs have eaten a raw diet their whole lives (11 & 12 now) and don’t consider kibble real food LOL So I’ve been looking for a shelf-stable, wholesome food to use when they don’t want their meaty bones. From the first taste, they gobbled this food! It even smells appetizing to me as it soaks. Makes it so easy for days when I’m exhausted or forgot to defrost something. It also blends beautifully with ground chicken necks, which I’ve started to feed more often as the elders are having a harder time chewing. I also add raw egg, yogurt, cottage cheese and/or greens for variety. The kittens get Prowl with their ground necks — we’re now a full-time THK family
I recently adopted my beloved greyhound racetrack rescue. It was love at first sight. He is clean, quiet, polite, sensitive and highly evolved and in tune with humans. There was only one MAJOR problem. He had explosive, gassy, diarrhea. He is a large dog with a fast metabolism and this makes for a ghastly combination!
I tried a dog food recommended by the vet that is available in stores carrying “premium plus” kibble–no help. Next, the store pushed their own brand on me saying that would be more pure–no help. Next, the vets office manager claimed that there was one other premium+ kibble that would/could work before going on a prescription diet intended for dogs with colitis and diabetes–my dog has neither!
Well, one day last week, I met a lady walking two dogs, and she also has one at home. She told me she had the same issues with two of her dogs, one for YEARS until a dog nutritionist recommended The Honest Kitchen, Keen product.
Long story short, I tried it yesterday and in ONE DAY, my boy produced stool that was solid for the first time. He also LOVES the taste!
First time trying out Keen… Great stuff!! It smells wonderful while it is soaking and the dogs love it. They get one meal of THK per day and the other is RMBs and all is looking good. I used to feed a raw diet completely from scratch, but since life is so busy, having THK around to replace all the steaming, grinding and mixing has been a lifesaver! Stools are great, energy levels are great, coats are super soft, it’s a winner in our book

Absolutely love this food. I mix a little with corn-free crunchies in the morning and evening…my old red heeler, Ginger used to regurgitate her food after each meal and re-eat it…was starting to be a problem…and when I changed her food to Keen…the problem is solved…no more regurgitation. Both of my dogs love it. Thank you so much for developing this product.
cured my dog’s supposed “asthma” and now we can go on walks without his wheezing and stopping, the change in his disposition is incredible.
Scotty used to be a very picky eater and would turn up his nose at the food we gave him. If he was by himself, we would leave it all day until he ate it. But when Buttons was around, Buttons would then eat his own and then steal Scotty’s! Until we found Honest Kitchen. Now Scotty gobbles it up before Buttons can finish his own and then tries to steal Buttons! It’s almost like he says “What goes around, comes around!” Thank you Honest Kitchen!!! Now feeding time is not such a chore.
