Hi Amy, sorry for any inconvenience. There seem to be some very mixed opinions on this issue from experts in the field. The more conservative view is to exercise caution or avoid using White Willow along with NSAIDs. Others actually find that using a product with White Willow can allow a patient to reduce the amount of NSAIDs being taken. I would discuss it with your holistic vet if you have one. White Willow is actually just one component of the Lithe Tea so it’s not like using a pure White Willow product that could be more potent and likely to cause GI upset. If you don’t have a holistic vet you can discuss this with, please let us know and we’d be happy to refer you to one form our list, either in your area or one who does phone consults. Let u know if we can help with anything else.

I’m bummed. I had my local pet food store order the Lithe Tea for me today because I have a dog who is very arthritic and has hip dysplasia and I thought this might help some. After doing more research on the ingredients, I found out that dogs who are on a NSAIDS should not take white willow bark. I wish there would have been something about this on this page. :(

I love HK products…food, supplements, etc. so decided to try the Lithe Tea in particular for my 14.5 year old diabetic bichon who is s/p FHO surgery this summer.

What a great product! He now actually jumps up to go for his walks, in the car, etc. In the past he indicated his interest but he hasn’t jumped up in years. The only difference is the tea. I use it after steeping as liquid to rehydrate their preference (or other HK food). Everyone likes it…I have also tasted it (a middle aged woman has her creaks too) :-)
Kudos again to HK….thank you! (and so does Bicci)

Is Lithe Tea not recommended for cats? There is a descrepancy on what is stated on the label versus on your disclaimer statement! Please clarify.

When the honest kitchen reps came in I told them about my two year old pup that had hip surgery a year ago and still has pain when she gets a little too much exercise. They offered to send me the tea that helps with hips and joints called lithe tea, (the ware house is holding a basic stock of this so we can special order it).

Anyways it came in at the perfect time! Poor little Ducky was crying of pain when she was walking around due to too much play and a really long walk. I gave her the tea that night, she slurped it up and within an hour or so was walking around like normal!!!! Now she gets it almost everyday along with her happy hips! Thanks so much to the honest kitchen reps! I highly recommend this tea and so do Ducky & Slurpee!
