With Love being one of your newest (and priciest) products, I was surprised to find it’s not one of the products you’re including a resealable bag on. Why not start off new products with your new bags??

We have been feeding both of our Newfoundlands Keen for about a year and a half. Recently we found out that our female has a long list of food allergies so she can no longer have the Keen. After we left our Vet’s office today we headed over to our local Scraps store to see what HK had that would not be toxic to her system. The “Love” was the only formula that did not contain at least one item off of her “forbidden” list so we picked up a box. It is expensive, especially for a big dog, so we are going to continue our other dog on the Keen. We do make a mixture though of kibble, HK, and fresh ingredients of about 1/3rd of each item. I am glad that HK is offering an option for those of us that have dogs with special needs and I hope that your company continues to develope new food products. I realize that the ingredients provided in the Love are more expensive to provide so am just happy that there is a product that has limited ingredients that we can add in to her diet to keep her healthy and active!! It is certainly preferable to the alternative of high Vet bills and a sick dog.

    Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you so much for your feedback, and we’re happy Tucker loves his Keen!

Each recipe will ‘soup up’ to a different amount. Keen is our fluffiest recipe by far, and because Love is grain-free with a higher meat content, it needs less water to hydrate. We measure all the nutrients in our food by the dry-measured cup and per-cup, Love has a bit more protein, fat and calories. If you typically feed 1/2 cup of dry-measured Keen, you would also feed 1/2 cup of dry-measured Love. Even though it will hydrated to a lesser amount, he will still be getting all the calories he needs!

Love is my favorite of the THK foods, and that’s saying a lot, I love them all! I like the ingredient list, the nutrient profile, my dogs go crazy for it, they always clean their bowls, or just try to lick the enamel off. I know it’s enough food for them, they just really like it!

Personally, I think love is the most yummy smelling of all the THK foods.

    I switched to Love!

Just wanted to say thanks to THK. Leilani is recovering after a pretty intense surgery. She cannot eat solid food, so thk works out very well. She loves it. Thanks Carla, Ill keep in touch. Christy

Preference (meat-less) dehydrated is my “go-to” product when serving RAW meat. Actually the RAW meat is a prepared “meatloaf” type mixture of uncooked meat, veggies, and minerals. But I’ve never had anything but great positive results with Preference. Hope to heavens nobody buys out this company. Or that they won’t change the formula. EVEN when my younger dog (1 yr) was having trouble with commercial kibbles, I could go back to serving RAW plus Preference and NEVER had an issue. I especially like the “perfect output” …easy clean up. Thank you THK!!

I purchased a 4lb. box of Love when it was first released. While my Tucker seemed to enjoy it, I was unhappy with the product. To me it seemed to take more Love to make a “usual” size bowl than the Keen that I had been using (usually apprx half cup dry to enough water to mix it well) and Tucker never seemed to be fully satisfied after his meals. For the price difference between the two types, I was certainly expecting the box to last at least four weeks; it lasted almost three.

I have returned to Keen, and Tucker is none the worse for wear. Thank you for all THK does to promote good health for our pets.

I’m currently feeding our 6 month old Boxer puppy Embark, Thrive and most recently Love (I rotate after each bag is empty). I couldn’t be happier with the food and our puppy is very happy too. He loves the food and licks his bowl forever after the food is gone. He looks great and he’s no longer having digestion issues which was the case with “high quality” kibble and canned food. I feel so much better about putting this in his bowl because I trust the company. Also, the food is worth every penny because you really do get what you pay for. His health and my peace of mind is definitely worth the price. Thank you THK!

Awesome job, HK! I can’t wait to try this food (just ordered it today)!! I love the ingredient list & the macronutrient proportions. I hsve a VERY allergy-prone dog, & the exclusion of egg is much appreciated. I know this necessitates other recipe adjustments that drive the price point up, but I’m thrilled & will happily make the investment. This is perfect!

I feed my dog Embark and Zeal because he has very very terrible skin allergies. He is on his way to recovery and I was really looking forward to Love. But I’ll give this a skip since its beef. He’s head Beef, Lamb, Chicken all his life and these are the 3 that I am staying away from. Hopefully you will have products that are of novel proteins, grain & gluten free in the future. For now, I’ll stick to Embark and Zeal.
