Just add meat! The easiest way to make homemade dog food, Preference is a grain-free foundation diet, to which meat must be added with every feeding. The beauty of Preference is that you can add whichever meat you would like, so it’s an excellent option for dogs that can’t tolerate more common protein sources or who just like a little variety. Suitable for dogs of all ages including pups and seniors.

Use Preference as a base, mixed with your own choice of meat, fish or other protein.
Preference is suggested for use with added raw meat, meaty bones or cooked meat of your preference (never cooked bones), as a base for a home made diet. This diet contains a custom vitamin-mineral premix with balanced calcium: phosphorus ratios, which are vital for the maintenance of healthy cells, bones and blood.
This recipe is ideal for dogs who are sensitive to more popular meats. Therefore, more exotic meats, fish or alternative protein sources may be used as required.
Preference is intended for supplemental feeding only, and has not been developed to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles or provide a complete and balanced diet when fed alone.
Meats may be added to Preference at a rate of 1:1 to 2:1 depending on the age, breed and level of activity of your pet.

My 11-year-old Bull Terrier has allergies to chicken, beef, turkey, and pork, so this product helps gives me options and enables me to get healthy ingredients into her diet as she ages. I can’t tell you how hard it is to find a non-poultry, non-wheat, flaxseed-free, potato-free food for my allergy-prone dog. Preference really hits the mark, and both the dogs love it. I love that I can change the protein source when my finicky eater gets bored – I can’t tell you how much money I’ve wasted on food because 3 days into a large bag, Razzle decided he didn’t care for it anymore (despite chugging through the smaller one we tried first). My dogs love this product. Due to allergies in one of my Bichons, I put them all on a gluten free grain free diet. It is amazing–no itching, vomiting, loose stools, or begging to eat. I vary the protein, and the two Bichons and one Doxie just love it!!!

My Old English Mastiff was having hair loss and skin problems. My vet thought it was allergies and had my mastiff on three different meds for over a month. The pet salon i take her to recommended your product and give me 6 samples. Her condition started clearing up by the second or third day. After 6 days 75% has grown back and her skin has cleared up. I just got back from buying a large box. It may seem a little high in price, but i actualy saved by having the vet drop all of her meds (around 135.00 plus vet visit). the large box i brought was about the same as a vet visit. Firstly, Kat was very prompt in replying my email when my toy poodle, Choco, did not eat Preference. After reading her email, I increased the amount of chicken and Choco just finshed the whole bowl (he almost wanted to eat the bowl as well)!
Secondly, Preference is just too good to be true for owners who want their pets to have the best dog food while preparing some real meat for them! Choco’s poo does not stink from distance anymore and there have been so many times that none of the family members know that he has soiled the newspapers!
I know I have found the right company that has a heart and I sincerely wish that THK will continue to stick to this principle as we see many huge companies stumble and fall upon the desire to make more money by substituting the good ingredients with other fillers.

I have been using THK for about 3 yrs now and I switch the between the Prefrence and Verve. My 4 dogs love it. When I get the box out they start dancing around. The Preference is a great low fat food and you can switch up your protein sources.
My two German Shorthair Pointers Megan and Sophie love this food. They look so healthy and look forward to every meal. I have been using Preference for about 3 months now. Its well worth the money spent and makes me feel good when I see their health. Megan had some bowel problems before and now she is fine. Thank you for being a great company.
Oh my gosh, my dogs cant wait until dinner time. They just love this product, I have a hard time keeping them out of it when I put it in the bowl to rehydrate. I love feeding my dogs good food, the reward is happy healthy and very energetic dogs. And since I do performance venues with my shelties, it really helps their stamana and energy levels. Im so glad I found this food!!!
