“Mr. Bojangles is our 4 year old Toy Australian Shepherd. When he was about 2 years old he developed severe colitis and skin irritation. Taking him off commercial dog foods and giving him a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice took care of his colitis, but his skin and white fur were still hot pink. The vet couldn’t figure it out why and thought maybe he had a food allergy. We tried every food at the local pet store and nothing changed with his skin and coat – AND the colitis came back! Then a new trainer at the store took me aside and told me about The Honest Kitchen and that sometimes dogs are allergic to the preservatives in commercial pet food, and not the individual ingredients. I found a store in my area that carried THK and gave it a shot. Mr. Bojangles loved the food and within a day his stools firmed up. Two weeks later his skin cleared up and his fur was no longer hot pink. He started to put on weight and his coat is thick and dense like it should be. Thank you!”
