A.J. is my 14 yr. old Shih-Tzu/Maltese mix that I rescued 2 years ago (next week!) from an Indianapolis shelter. It really was love at first sight and he has brought me so much joy and happiness. I adopted A.J. during a relatively stressful time in my life: graduate school. His presence comforted me, and in many ways gave me the strength to persevere through my studies. Many said that adopting a much older dog could be risky, but senior dogs, as well as A.J., deserve just as much love and compassion as the young puppies. A.J. has had his share of stomach ailments, (colitis, irritable bowel) luckily nothing detrimental that couldn't be remedied with the right food. Honest Kitchen is high-quality food that A.J. can't wait to gobble up. I feel good knowing A.J. is getting the nutrients he needs, especially given his age. He is a very active dog, and that balanced with the right diet has been very successful. I hope to have many more years with him.
