- Digestive Issues, Food Allergies / Intolerances
From day 1 Hulk has had constant diarrhea or soft stool. We treated him for many things and nothing worked. I was very concerned that he was not absorbing his proper amount of nutrition and not growing as big as he should. This was a constant battle for 4 and 1/2 months and after countless veterinary visits and medications to try our vet ran out of options and decided he needed advanced testing (which meant lots of money). Hulk always had an appetite and plenty of energy and even during all of this he completed puppy training and never had accidents in the house. After calling around to a few other vet offices for a second opinion, one mentioned it could be a food allergy. I had always assumed that food allergies only affected their skin and coat and Hulk's was fine. He had been on a normal chicken food and we switched him to a grain free diet with duck as the main protein. It has done wonders for him! He is very sensitive and even small treats we have tried will bring back the diarrhea. We still aren't sure what exactly he is allergic too. For the past month he has gotten food only because the brand we have him on does not make grain free duck treats. My mother in law found the honest kitchen and bought Hulk some grain free treats and supplements and they have been amazing for Hulk. I am so happy that I have found something to spoil my pup with that won't hurt him! Thank you for what you do Honest Kitchen!
