My dogs love this and so do I. Easy and healthy.
I just want to say that I'm VERY IMPRESSED with the overall reaction that I have gotten from my 12 year old Shih tzu, Daisy. You guys have put the SPUNK back into my dog, I LOVE IT!!! THANKS A TON AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! I am THRILLED WITH THE OUTCOME so far and its only been about a week of her being on your grain-free Force! It's not that hard to mix up and my dog follows me everywhere lol especially in the kitchen when she KNOWS ITS TIME TO EAT! I've also noticed an improvement in her skin, she doesn't seem to scratch that much and even in her eyes, but however, I know it hasn't been long enough to see a big difference, but I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MORE IMPROVEMENTS!
And if anyone is wondering about the customer service, they are AMAZING AND VERY HELPFUL, AND ON TOP OF THAT YOU ACTUALLY TALK TO A REAL PERSON!!!
I am also very impressed with the pamplets that you can get that shows EXACTLY WHERE THE FOOD COMES FROM AND NONE COMES FROM CHINA!!! We all know that everything these days is MADE IN CHINA, BUT NOT THEIR INGREDIENTS!!! AWESOME, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS!!! I'M GLAD SOMEONE CARES ENOUGH like these guys at THE HONEST KITCHEN TO MAKE SOMETHING THAT IS REAL AND NOT THIS ADDED FAKE CRAP THAT THEY PUT IN DOG FOOD AND ITS REASONABLY PRICED, WHICH IS AWESOME FOR SOMEONE ON A BUDGET!
My German Shepherd loves this food! Does not give him diarrhea.
I only feed my dogs whole food, and believe in variety to cover all the bases, nutritionally, as well as to keep their palettes entertained. I trust Honest Kitchen to provide safe, nutritious and tasty foods for my dogs, and they do. I am grateful to this company for the care and quality foods they provide. I appreciate having grain-free and healthy grain options as I like to mix it up, literally & figuratively!
I did an earlier review explaining how we adopted an Akita / German Shepherd mix a couple of months ago with "digestive sensitivity". After trying other foods with no improvement, someone recommended Verge from the Honest Kitchen. I wanted to try a grain free option, and I started with Embark (which worked wonders). Now, I'm trying Love. He likes it, but not quite as much as Embark. With Embark, he would keep going back to the empty bowl and lick it. With Love, he leaves just a small amount still in the bowl. I'm sure all dogs differ on their personal tastes! I'm trying Revel next (about 1/2 the price, and, although not grain free, they use healthy grains, and I have a feeling his tummy will be okay with that!)
I adopted an Akita / German Shepherd mix a couple of months ago. He had digestive issues (intermittent loose stools, etc). I tried 2-3 foods (including recommendations from my vet) with no improvement. Then, someone highly recommended The Honest Kitchen foods. He loved Verge, for his dog, but I wanted to try a grain free option, and I started with Embark. Within 24 hrs, he had his first normal bowel movement since we got him! My brother uses Blue Wilderness, so I checked into that, also, but, pound for pound, The Honest Kitchen is actually a little less expensive!
I switched to the Honest Kitchen (THK) from a prescription blend for gastrointestinal health. My Mini Goldendoodle has been on a prescription diet for over 8 months, ever since she was diagnosed with gastroenteritis. She has always been a fuzzy eater; however, she seems to eat this food with no problem. She tends to prefer it when it's more liquid rather than chunky so I add a little extra water. After being put on a prescription diet she started to develop reddish/dark spots around her eyes and huge gunks. Ever since I started feeding her THK I have noticed the eye discharge decreased significantly. She also didn't get diarrhea or an upset stomach like most dogs do when you initially change their diet. So far so good I just hope THK actually makes human grade dog food and it's not just a label scam. I wish they would somehow get certified USDA Organic!
My 4 year old chocolate lab used to NEVER eat dry food, i would have to add real food in order to get her to even think about touching it. She gobbles The Honest Kitchen up in minutes!!! And her bowel movements have been much more normal. Thank you!!! 5 stars and definitely would recommend! (ALSO I am a vegan, and this isn't gross or smelly so I never get sick from mixing it up-just in case anyone else is in the same boat as me haha)
I decided to try out Force based on a girlfriend's recommendation for my 14 year old Lhasa Apso, Emma. She has been on a dry dental dog kibble for older dogs, but she always seems to be hungry. She is constantly grazing on deer poop or other equally disgusting tidbits she finds on the trail. I hoped adding Force into her diet with the dry kibble would replace nutrients her diet must be lacking. It seems to have worked! She loves, and I mean LOVES the taste of the food, and she doesn't seem constantly hungry. I still use some dry kibble to keep her teeth clean, but I think she would prefer if I fed her entirely Honest Kitchen's Force.
Our 5lb chihuahua LOVES this food! We looked all over for a good quality food for him, as close to RAW as we could but with a protein level that wouldn't cause Bailey anymore seizures. This seems to be the one and the best part is that HE LOVES IT and gets so excited about eating again! We are very pleased!
My maltese is an extremely picky eater, I think we went through 4 different brands/flavors of dog food before finding one she would even get near. I bought the samples of "embark" and "love" (which btw, thank you THK for offering the sample packs and quick shipping!!) thinking she would probably turn her nose up but what the heck, it was worth a try for the price and good reviews. Boy was I completely wrong! I think she may have broken the world record for fastest eater and was begging for more. Can't wait for my big box of food to come in and I know my pup can't wait either. Thank you SO much THK!
