Ernie is not your average dog who will eat anything. In fact, he’s the pickiest dog you’ll ever meet! He turns his nose up at almost everything, so when his birthday rolls around, a “normal” pupcake recipe just won’t do. After last year’s failed attempted (although all the other dogs enjoyed it), I knew I had to go back to the drawing board. Ultimately, I whipped up a batch of pupcakes that are sure to please even the pickiest of pups! Using Honest Kitchen’s Grain Free Limited Ingredient Turkey Recipe and fresh ground turkey, this recipe was a hit with the office cowoofers, Ernie included! Ernie's Turkey Pupcakes   Print Recipe Ingredients Cake1 cup Honest Kitchen Marvel Limited Ingredient Turkey Recipe or desired THK diet1/3 cup coconut flour2 eggs1 1/3 cup warm water12 oz ground turkey, raw or desired proteinFrosting1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt1/4 cup natural peanut butter12 Honest Kitchen Smooches Or desired cookie Instructions Preheat the oven to 375.Place paper liners in a 12-cup standard muffin pan. (skip this step if using a silicone pan)In a large bowl, hydrate the Marvel with the warm water. Add coconut flour, eggs and ground turkey. Gently stir until thoroughly combined.Divide the mixture among the paper liners. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.While the muffins are in the oven, combine yogurt and peanut butter in a bowl and mix with a hand or kitchen mixer until combined. Keep in the refrigerator until muffins are cooled.When the muffins are cooled, frost the muffins and top each with a single cookie. This recipe makes a large batch, so there’s plenty to share or save for later! Ingredients 1/2 cup The Honest Kitchen Thrive dog food1 cup warm water1/4 cup dried blueberries1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce1 cup oat flour1 free range egg1/2 cup almond butter or coconut oil1 tsp vanilla essence (optional) Instructions Preheat the oven to 350°F.In a large mixing bowl, combine the applesauce, egg, almond butter, vanilla (if using) and water. In a second bowl, combine the oats, Thrive dog food and blueberries.Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix well.Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until thoroughly mixed together.Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thick and cut out shapes.Place these onto a greased baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes.Cool on a rack before serving.Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze.
