Interview with Dorothy Hunter about Her Dog Food Pledge
You might have read about Dorothy Hunter – her pledge to eat nothing but high quality dog food (including The Honest Kitchen!) for 30 days has gained national media attention. As a reseller at Paw’s Natural Pet Emporium, we had the chance to catch her for a quick Q&A!
First, how did your pups react to you sharing their meals with them?
“They were very confused why I was eating their food.”
What’s your motivation for doing this?
“I was just try to promote ingredient awareness on a local level.”
What’s the funniest comment you’ve heard so far about your experience?
“I had a lady that commented she didn’t know dog food had human food ingredients in it… I wondered what she did think was in the food then.”
How many meals a day are you eating of The Honest Kitchen?
“I having THK one to two times a day and sampling other foods as well.”
Which Honest Kitchen recipes are your favorite?
“Keen and Preference”
Do you add any seasoning to your Honest Kitchen meals?
“I wish, I have not added any seasoning but I hear hot sauce is good with it from other THK lovers who also have tried it.”
Did you notice any palatability differences with canned, kibble and dehydrated food?
“Dehydrated is the best by far when it comes to human palate or at least it tastes better to me.”
Have you noticed any changes in your well-being since starting the 30 day challenge?
“I have noticed my energy is up. I believe it’s because I’m not eating a lot of complex carbs, salts and sugars… Humans are social eaters and socially this has been hard.”
When you’re done, do you think you’ll still snack on dog food or treats occasionally?
“Absolutely! I will be attending our industry’s next big show in Las Vegas and I will be sampling lots of new products and learning more about the companies who go above and beyond to make the best pet food out there. The Honest Kitchen has been a leader in showing pride in the products they make and a perfect example of how to do it right!”
