Beemo
We rescued Beemo from the local ARL in 2019 and haven't looked back! He was a bit thin and looked a little ragged but he wasn't at all shy. The folks at the ARL told us he was given up by his previous owner because he didn't have the time to devote to Beemo. Boy, had we only known what we were in for. On our first meeting he came right up to us with a ball in his mouth and wagging his tail. He promptly dropped the ball at our feet, scuttled back about three feet and lay down in the working dog position as low as he could and waited for us to throw it. We did, and he erupted in chase, snagged the ball and repeat, and repeat, and so on. He can do this for hours. No ball to be had? He will root through the dirty laundry baskets looking for socks and torment you again. He's got us pretty much trained now, as he will gladly give up the ball or sock if you offer up a THK cookie!
nLuckily, in spite of being chock full of energy, he is an excellent house dog who can turn himself OFF and lie around the house all day when we're at work. His only real issue, much to our dismay, was finding out that he is terrified of thunder and lightning. He will attempt to jump through windows to get outside which can easily lead to destruction and injury. When a storm is coming, someone needs to be home to take care of him to calm and distract him. Heavy sedatives and an extra strong crate work but we prefer not to use them if at all possible.
nWe started our previous dog on THK and continued with Beemo. He looks forward to meal time and his usual is 1/2 cup of Veggy/Nut base with 1/2 cup of chicken, beef or tuna and a handful of THK Clusters for crunch. YUM!! He is healthy, happy and full of pep. That is, when he's not sleeping on the sofa. He is one of the family now and we wouldn't have it any other way.
