Bodhi
n
nThat was the case for my dog, and unfortunately for Bodhi, it took me almost a year to find that out.

n
nI've had my sweet boy since he was a very young pup and he's always had food sensitivities. I tried all kinds of high end kibble, but inevitably, whatever worked for him would only be tolerable for a short couple of months and then the search was on again.
n
n
n
nI finally switched to raw and his sensitivity began to improve but then he started having seizures. Not wanting to put him on Phenol Barbital, I dealt with them myself fairly successfully using holistic means until one day, he began having cluster seizures and at that point, I had no choice but to medicate him.
n
nIn the meantime, I searched for and finally found a fabulous holistic vet who did phone consults and from Bodhi's symptoms and photos, she felt the seizures could be caused from severe food allergies. His belly was dark pink and he had flakes of dandruff around the base of his tale, among other symptoms that led her to that conclusion.

n
n
nI changed his diet from what was primarily raw chicken to turkey, tripe and salmon and then, from May 2014, started adding The Honest Kitchen Preference, Verve, Zeal, and Embark.
n
n
n
nNow his coat is silky soft, he has no dandruff, and his belly is a beautiful healthy shade of pink.

n
nI finally feel like we're on the right track. Using The Honest Kitchen helps him to tolerate his yucky tasting Chinese herbs that helps his body deal with the Phenol Barbital. He's always ready to eat and licks the bowl clean.

nBy using THK, I feel confident Bodhi's getting all the vitamins and minerals he needs without resorting to synthetic ones. His body is so stable now that with the over site of our vet, my goal is to wean him off the PB once and for all.
