I struggle to find food for my dog that is chicken free & pea free. We found a couple of other brands before trying The Honest Kitchen Whole Grain Beef & Turkey dry clusters, but she didn't really care for those. The Honest Kitchen was the first food we got which she ate with no toppers being added to trick her to eat. It makes me feel good because it is human grade dog food. She has been eating this for close to a year now and still seems to enjoy it. On the last brand of food we were feeding to her, she was having many days of her anal glands popping. This was something I have not really had to deal with for most of her life. I thought it was just life changes for her, as she was about four and a half to five years old when those problems started. I am happy to report that after the switch to The Honest Kitchen clusters, there was a slight change (for the better) in her poop. We rarely have issues with her anal glands popping any more. I had no idea that the food the was eating was able to make that difference. After some internet searching, I found that bowel movements which were a thicker density/ diameter aides the digestive tract with expressing her anal glands naturally when she does her business. Who knew? I must caution that one side effect of this food for her has been extreme cases of the zoomies!
