Cava

nEvery morning after I walk her, Cava insists that I give her a Beam as a pre-breakfast snack. If I forget to give her a treat, she follows me around whining until I remember my mistake. Even my cats get in on the action and demand that I give them both a few Smittens (they climb the furniture and meow at me until they get their treats). If I ever go to the area where we store Cava's Beams, she stands at attention and makes it clear that she would appreciate a treat. Whenever I take Cava to an off leash park or on a hike without her leash, I always have some broken up beams in my hand in case she decides to wander off. As soon as I pull out a Beam, she comes running back to me surprised that she would ever even have considered running off in the first place. Occasionally I will offer her the cats Smittens since they are smaller treats and are always handy to have around. It's obvious why Cava loves her Beams since they are pure fish. I love them because I can feel good about what she is eating. I also know that eating them won't give her any of the digestive issues that some other treats have given her.

nCava loves Spring, Autumn, and Winter, but she HATES the summer (I can�t say that I blame her since she permanently has to wear a fur coat). The only things that help her make it through the long, hot summer are Ice Pups. I feel great about giving her the Ice Pups since they help keep her cool on hot summer days. She loves the flavor and can�t get enough of them. Sometimes during the winter months I will mix them with her water, which she LOVES. I love that the Ice Pups help me make sure that she is drinking enough water regardless of the season as I know how important proper hydration is for animals.

nCava's stomach is fairly sensitive, though she does not have any food allergies (we tested her), so I am always careful about trying to give her new treats. I am so grateful to Honest Kitchen since I never worry about giving their treats to her. Cava is a lucky little girl who I am tremendously lucky to have in my life. I feel so grateful that I get to show her how much she means to me (and I assure you that she thinks there is no greater sign of affection than being given an excellent treat).
