Chris

Chris / Christopher is our 16 year old tabby, who I adopted from a student who could no longer have pets. That was almost fifteen years ago, and he has become a beloved member of our family. Chris is a gentle soul, and gets along well with both cats and dogs (and people, too!). Unfortunately, last month he was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor (squamous cell carcinoma) under the base of his tongue. The tip of his tongue was surgically removed because the tumor caused a clot. Poor little man! We were devastated to hear that his prognosis was poor, and if he wouldn't eat, he would need to be euthanized. When he came home from the hospital, he seemed to want to eat, but couldn't figure out how to accomplish eating his usual food, missing a third of his tongue. Well, I was determined to find something delicious for Chris to get into his tummy, so I tried various brands and types of foods (even fresh ham, chicken, and eggs)- I was getting desperate. My neighbor gave me a sample of Honest Kitchen's two cat foods: Prowl and Grace. We were in luck! Christopher seemed excited to smell the bag as soon as I opened it, and we both waited anxiously for the food to hydrate (only 5 minutes!)-
nWell, I am ecstatic to say that Chris loved the food and ate the entire portion!
nWith the help of Honest Kitchen, combined with his prescription cans, Chris was able to gain over a pound in a month- the vet was amazed and thrilled!!!
