Cleo

German Shepherd — Age 12

I have had my 12-year-old German Shepherd, Cleo since she was just 10-weeks-old. Cleo was taken from a puppy mill in Michigan and brought to New Jersey. From the beginning she was an extremely anxious dog, no matter how much exercise and exposure she received. Although with these problems, she was the most wonderful dog. But, it wasn't until she turned about 8-years-old that her medical problems began. Cleo tore both CCl's and I was told she required surgery that would cost me about $15,000. Now I am a young college student, so as hard as it was for me to do I just couldn't afford her surgery. The veterinarian and I discussed multiple things that could be a possible alternative. This is when I started to really think about what I was feeding her. For her entire life up until this point she would get dry kibble mixed with canned food. I didn't think too much of it, until I watched a video regarding The Honest Kitchen dog food. I knew I had to make the switch! Right from the start Cleo was so much happier. She never wanted to stop eating! I feed her The Honest Kitchen Turkey recipe for breakfast and the The Honest Kitchen base mix for dinner mixed with turkey I prepared myself. I also like to add things such as eggs and rice from time to time, which she absolutely loves! I love the thought of feeding her homemade human grade food, without the hassle and pressure of doing it myself! Cleo lost 10 pounds and started taking Carprofen every single day. Her health problems seem to disappear over night. Now 12-years-old, Cleo is happy and healthy. I will keep her on The Honest Kitchen for the rest of her life and I will start my next dog on it from the start! Thank you so much, The Honest Kitchen for bringing my beautiful girl back to life!
