Dawson

I started Dawson on the Honest Kitchen Dehydrated food after he had been severely ill and nearly died at the age of 7 years. After being in and out of the Vet/Specialists for over a month, he was recovering but our Vet Specialist warned us that he would need to be on a special Vet diet for kidney issues for the rest of his life and she didn't know how long that would be. I had been doing quite a bit of research into diets for him that didn't involve processed food from the Vet (that had very high prices and extremely low quality ingredients), and that's when I found the Honest Kitchen and decided to give it a try. Dawson started on the Fish formula (for an easily digestible but quality protein) and then when his kidneys showed they could tolerate that, we slowly changed to the Turkey formula. Six months after nearly loosing him, we went back to the Vet for a full blood work panel and the Specialist couldn't believe how great his numbers looked! She told me that whatever I was doing, I should definitely keep it up. Dawson will be 14 years old in June of this year and while we have continued to do routine blood work, his kidney values continue to look awesome. I know that Dawson wouldn't have thrived these last 6 1/2 years if I hadn't put him on the Honest Kitchen food, and I'm so happy my beautiful boy enjoys his healthy meals!
