Dug

Australian Shepherd — Age 6

One day at work I saw and ad for a dog that needed a forever home. My husband and I decided we wanted to give a rescue dog a forever home. I called to inquire about the dog only to be told he had already been adopted. I did get the name of the shelter so I called them. After explaining how disappointed I was that we were too late to adopt the first dog, they told me they had the perfect pet for us. He was a mini aussie who had been rescued from a hoarder situation. He was one of 8 dogs rescued. They had been in such a horrible place that one of the dogs could not be saved. The hoarder actually did time in jail for his crime against animals. They brought us a very timid little boy they called Vinny. It was love at first site for us so we adopted him. We changed his name to Dug, the name of the little dog in the movie UP. Dug was so timid he did not bark until we had him six months! We thought he was mute. Then we decided Dug needed a companion. We went back to the shelter and adopted his brother Bailey. The boys were 3 yrs.old when we adopted them and now they are 6 yrs. old. Our dog trainer told us about Honest Kitchen food. After finding out that Honest Kitchen ingredients were so pure a human could eat it , we were sold! Thank you Honest Kitchen for keeping our boys so healthy with such good food!
