Finley

Finley / Several months before COVID-19 hit, I sent in a completed application to adopt a greyhound. In mid-April the kennel contacted me saying they had just gotten some greys from a track in West Virginia. So I drove down to the kennel on April 25, 2020 and instantly connected with Finley! Little did I know at the time what a comfort he would be during this Pandemic. As is often said, I dont know whether I adopted him or he adopted me. n nHe had a period of adjustment to go through. Life at the track is very different than having free roam of a house. He had never seen a flight of stairs before and didnt quite know how to climb or descend them. But we got through all of that and did some training, and now after seven months together hes been a great companion. n nSometimes hell be starring at me and I wonder if hes just a dog. He seems to know whats on my mind and anticipates a move before I make the slightest gesture. I wonder at times whether someone sent him to me. n nI dont consider that I own Finley. Rather Im delighted hes here and Im privileged to be able to care of him.
