Franny
Golden Retriever — Age 10
I adopted my Golden, Lab Retriever mix dog when she was a year old. She had a history of hot spots when she came to live with me. I started researching what would cause this issue and discovered grain allergies. I started removing grains from her diet until I was able to identify that corn and wheat were the culprits. I was cooking fresh food for her initially but found that was labor intensive and not especially cost effective. I discovered the Honest Kitchen foods on the Only Natural Pet site and ordered there for years. However, they stopped carrying the larger sizes in the dehydrated foods we used and so I switched to the Honest Kitchen site and I can get what is needed when needed and it ships quicker. Franny is ten years old and is not overweight and has boundless energy. People do not believe me when I tell them she is 10 years old. She had an attack of pancreatitis two years ago and I researched low fat food options and adjusted to the beef and chicken dehydrated foods at that time. She's doing well and not had another attack since. Her coat is beautiful and has no dryness, she isn't overweight and hasn't had hot spots since changing her diet 9 years ago.
