Kee Ahn

Kee Ahn /

I run a german shepherd dog rescue and have taken in many special needs dogs throughout the years. This little man is Kee Ahn and he suffers from megaesophagus. Megaesophagus is when the muscles of the esophagus do not work and food and water cannot be moved into the stomach. As a result, the food and water stay in the esophagus within the chest cavity and are never pushed into the stomach. The food and water that are stuck in the esophagus will at some point cause your dog to aspirate the contents, resulting in aspiration pneumonia. This can result in them becoming severely ill, failing to thrive, and death is possible. So Kee Ahn has to have a highly nutritious, very palatable form of food to eat. He also sits in a Bailey chair after he eats for about 20-25 minutes in order to help gravity get all the food to his stomach. Kee Ahn came to me when he was just a few weeks old and I started him in on The Honest Kitchen food right away. Since that time he has gained around 50 lbs and will be a year old on 5/29/21. He is a handsome boy, as you can see, and is thriving with the help of The Honest Kitchen dog food. I also use their goats milk probiotic supplement which enormously helps with his digestion. He is a super sweet shepherd who just loves life, his 'brothers' and 'sisters' and as you can see his toys!
