I am Lexi and I am an 11 year old Shih Tzu - 7 pounds of dog and 20 pounds of attitude! I was rescued from a very unhappy life in a puppy mill when I was 5 years old. It took me a long time until I started to understand what love, care and happiness in a furever home could be like! I have been spoiled but my family says I deserve it. I have everything a pup could ask for and more! The thing that I have had and still have issues with is eating (dog food that is; I'd prefer treats and people food from the table). I am very fussy about what I eat and how I eat it. My Mom says she has to go through all kind of hoops to get me to eat. She heard about Honest Kitchen food and ordered some samples hoping (but not necessarily believing) that I would like it and eat it. We tried Verve and Keen and Mom mixed it up in my bowl, put it down and got ready to go through her hoops. But I surprised her and ate. all. the. food. That's right - by myself, gone, done - I licked that plate clean! I usually turn up my nose at fruits and vegetables but had no problem with this food. Mom was so surprised. She promised me that when the samples were gone she would buy me some more. It also didn't take her near as long to prepare my meals either. Oh - we noticed that Honest Kitchen also helped me to be more regular in doing my business, if you know what I mean!
