Lilly

Shih Tzu — Age 12

Our youngest, Lilly, will turn 12 tomorrow (Happy birthday, Lilly!). Ever since the day she came to live with us, she has gobbled down anything we put in front of her. The problem with that, of course, is that she doesn't know when to stop eating. So we've had to be diligent about portion control for her. As she has aged, she has started to experience some pretty severe joint pain, so we have tried a number of things to help her feel better. With the help of our vet, we've finally found a medication that is healing her. That medicine, coupled with the diet described below, has really turned her health around. Three years ago we switched from canned dog food to fresh food. My wife makes fresh meat for Lilly and Sasha on a daily basis, and within the last two years we also starting using certain food items from The Honest Kitchen. Now, each meal includes fresh meat, The Honest Kitchen Clusters, The Honest Kitchen Bone Broth, Cannanine 500MG 0%-THC CBD Oil, Dr. Mercola Curcumin for Cats & Dogs, Dr. Mercola Complete Probiotics for Cats & Dogs, Sunrider Alpha 20C for Liver Enzyme health, Sunrider Fortune Delight and Quinary as superfoods' supplements, and Nordic Naturals Pet Cod Liver Oil. (I'm pretty sure our dogs eat healthier than we do!) Now that Lilly is eating healthier, some of her puppylike qualities have started to show again. Both her and Sasha seem to be in above average health for their age (they're both considered seniors at their respective age of 12). So thank you to The Honest Kitchen for providing human quality food products for our dogs. The squeaking of toys and wiggling of butts in anticipation of mealtime says it all!
