My 2 dogs (a 3 year old frenchie and a 1+ year old boxer) had been eating Ollie fresh food for a year. We love the benefits of fresh food and felt really good feeding it, but we were spending more a month on the dogs food than our own grocery bill for a family of 4. I spent months searching for something comparable in quality with a lower price tag, and I just couldn't find it. I compared ingredients and prices on so many dog foods, I was almost ready to give up and cut back somewhere else, so that I could afford to feed my dogs high quality food. When I came across THK's dehydrated complete meals, I was totally intrigued, but unsure about using dehydrated food. I was worried about loose poops, dry skin or poor nutrition. I ended up grabbing a box when it was on sale at my local pet store, just to check it out. I got it home and stirred up a little bit, just to see what it was like. When I opened the box, it smelled like a dried soup mix! So yummy! The whole family asked if it was human food or dog food! I gradually tapered the dogs off of Ollie and onto THK. My girls have maintained their shiny, rich coats, their steady energy, and their solid poops! Super bonus- it is incredibly easy to help you dog gain or lose weight on this food, compared to premeasured, prepackaged fresh dog food. No changing plans, only slightly increasing or decreasing portion sizes. Also, I enjoy offering my dogs warm, freshly prepared food during these cold winter months. They gobble it up and go lay by the fire. My dogs love this food. I love the whole grain and grain free options. I have always choosen whole grain dog foods, but I will be trying grain free versions of this food as well, and mixing in my own grains, since there is such a great variety of nutritious food in each recipe! I want my girls to have it all. I couldn't be happier. My dogs couldn't be happier. My wallet is also thankful, now saving around $400 a month. Thank you, The Honest Kitchen!
