Louie
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel — Age 3
I have known Louie for 3 years and he was born with a love for food. Literally you could not get him to stop eating. As a puppy, I had him on kibble for puppies and he quickly grew out of it by the time he reached maturity. We'd been struggling with his diet on and off for about 2 years when his sensitive skin conditions worsened. I bought pharmaceutical-grade kibble and kept him on a grain-free lifestyle, but the itching got even worse and became out-of-control. Louie had scabs all over his body (under his beautiful coat of fur) from itching constantly, so I knew the kibble would have to go - once and for all. I looked into fresh, raw food delivered right to your door, but the prices averaged around $30 per week - which is more than (I'd like to think) I spend on myself. I did a bunch of internet research one night, and that's when I came across a blog post of advice for dogs with itchy skin, which recommended The Honest Kitchen (THK) in a non-marketing-biased sort of way. Although it was considerably higher in price than his previous kibble, I was desperate to try anything that would make the itching stop. Almost 24 hours after eating his new THK food, I noticed a difference in Louie's behavior. The itching subdued significantly, and his scabs started to heal after a few weeks. I was hesitant to try dried food again, but THK is the best dry food for your dog on the market. It may be smelly, but Louie absolutely loves it and I love seeing my boy happy and healthy. Thank you THK!
