All True Stories
My family and I drove to Roanoke, VA January of 2021 to make Midnight a part of our family. When Midnight finally arrived home, we gave him a familiar name brand of food (Purina Pro-plan). About two months in, he decided his food was no longer delicious and would not eat. We immediately went to our local pet store and got him some food topping. We thought it would work and he did take a few bites but that was not efficient for long. When I was in line at Care-A-Lot to get Midnight to a Vet checkup, a nice cashier got to talking and we had a discussion about picky-eating dogs. She stated that her pup was the same way until she found a brand named The Honest Kitchen. She said they didn't carry it in the store but she directed us back to our local Pet Supplies Plus that carried it. The same day we went to the store and picked up The Honest Kitchen dry clusters food. For the first time in a long time, Midnight devoured his food completely and did not leave a crumb behind. After a while, he did not want to eat his food anymore and my mom and I began to worry. We went back to Pet Supplies Plus and got him a food topper from The Honest Kitchen. He started to eat again but we knew it wouldn't last long. We thought he would like a change of flavor of his food. Instead, we found a trial size of The Honest Kitchen dehydrated food. Since it could be used as a topper or a whole meal, we bought two. When my mom and I got home to Midnight, we got the food ready and gave Midnight his dinner. He licked his bowl clean and dry. We could not believe he could eat that fast. We even thought about getting one of those bowls that slows down his eating because he was so excited to eat. When the prices went up around the beginning of January 2022, it did get a little harder to keep him on the brand and we had to switch back to his old brand. We continued to use the toppers though because we knew he would still like them. After a few months, we didn't love the ingredients that were going into his daily food (RedFord). We weren't surprised because it was a Pet Supplies Plus store brand even though we could trust them. We knew Midnight deserved better and more high-quality food. When I started my first job in October 2022, I knew that my family and I could afford to put him back on The Honest Kitchen. So we switched back to the Whole Grain Chicken dehydrated food. Ever since he has been thriving and his digestion has been great and his poop is very firm and healthy. His coat is also beautiful and shiny :)
