Minnie

Minnie / I decided to help out a local humane society in the spring of 2013 as they work hard to pull dogs and cats from a high kill shelter and place them in foster homes where they receive lots of love and attention and get up to date on all things medical.
n
nI think I won the lottery when I was able to be Minnie's foster mom. She is a delightful 15 lbs beagle who has a tail that will not stop wagging. Her only downfall was her terribly, terribly oily coat and yeasty ears. I could bathe her and within hours of that bath, her coat was oily again. And the strong doggy odor!!
n
nShe was also a poster child for food allergies. Her toes were red, she was very itchy, the ears which I mentioned above.
n
nI knew I needed to make radical changes in her life to help her heal from the inside out.
n
nAs I knew Minnie needed extra care, I decided that cheerful little thing needed to stay with me and I went from foster mom to just plain old mom.
n
nInstead of going with a diet of kibble, which had not been helping anyway, I decided to give Thrive a try because of it's limited ingredients. She loved the flavor and I could see some improvement in that her toes were not quite as red as before.
n
nI also put her on Sparkle as that seemed to be a reasonable thing to add to help this little girl out even more. She also received baths and acupuncture and everything else I could think to help.
n
nShe has been on an Honest Kitchen diet for a few months now and is continuing to do well. I am very pleased with her progress and also I love being able to feed my dog without worry of poor quality, or worse, ingredients.
n
nThanks so much for being there and providing pet owners a safe, outside the box, alternative for our kids.
