I have never had a Great Dane before. My boyfriend had the Great Dane puppy when he moved in with me. She had giarda parasites with diarrhea. We got her on medicine and had to treat my dogs as well. After the Giarda parasites were treated her diarrhea continued. I went to the vet to find out how to care for these gentle giants differently from my other dogs. The vets recommended science diet. My Dane had diarrhea with science diet and they had a recall right after we started it. We than switched to a raw food but had trouble keeping weight on her and continued diarrhea. I wanted a dog food that could be used for all my dogs. I have a chug, beagle, pit bull, and Great Dane. Switched to honest kitchen whole grain. Now all my dogs eat the same food. She has way more energy, finally has poops I can pick up, and is maintaining weight.
