For 10 years, Pogo had been on the raw food diet that I have made for him and all my dogs. He is an athletic little guy and if you didn't know he was 11, you'd think he was an adolescent athlete. In the fall of 2019, he had a seizure and the MRI revealed a meningioma, a tumor that forms on membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord just inside the skull. Given how healthy he was otherwise, we elected for the three day stereotactic radiation therapy. On Day 2, little Pogo developed Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis and was very critical in a matter of hours. The symptoms are usually severe, and HGE can be fatal if not treated. He pulled through, resumed his radiation and you would never know to look at him he went through such a harrowing ordeal. However, given his compromised state, and after a great deal of research, I made the decision to switch his food from the home made, raw food diet to a commercial diet and the food I chose was the Honest Kitchen. The ingredients are amazing, the cooking process is fantastic, and the support from everyone at the company has been incredible. The transition was absolutely seamless. He devours his new food and quickly figured out the new food is coming from the magical box on the counter and eagerly watches me prepare his meals looking to me then to the box as if to say The good stuff is in there Mom. I'm excited about his recovery and that Honest Kitchen is part of his success story. Thank you Honest Kitchen!
