Riff

Boxer — Age 4

We adopted our 4 year old boxer about 6 months ago. He has been a great dog and wonderful addition to our family. We are so lucky to have him as our pet. He has had a few health issues when we got him. He had a sinus infection and some skin issues. He has had spots of hair loss that appears like mange and bumps that turn into scabs and fall off. Our vet treated him for the sinus infection with antibiotics and recommended an ointment for his skin. The ointment provided marginal relief. We weened him off a costco food he was eating to a premium dry food. He still continued to have issues with skin and his stool was very soft. So a couple months back I was talking to the manager at our local pet store and said we should try The Honest Kitchen Keen. I was skeptical at first, but I liked how the food looked and smelled. The consistency was much like oatmeal. I use a bit more warm water than recommended, 2 cups warm water to one cup Keen. I was worried at first during the transition he had some really smelly gas. But once he fully transitioned the gas disappeared. I attribute it to something in his old dry food. To say the least my boxer gobbles it down. He loves this food. He drools like crazy waiting for his food (3 minutes). Best thing is his skin issues has disappeared and his stool is nice and firm now. The price of the food is about the same price I was paying for the dry food. Riff is 65 lbs and he would go through a 26 lb bag of dry food in 4 weeks. With a 10 lb box of Keen it will last 3 to 3.5 weeks. The price between the two was only $5. For the superior ingredients and healthier dog it is well worth it. I am so happy to have found this food and I recommend it to every dog owner I know.
