All True Stories
In August, 2013, my 8 year old Mastiff was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right front leg. Her only chance would be amputation. Though a senior, the veterinary team determined her remaining limbs were strong enough to support her (thanks in large part of twice daily walks since age 1) and we felt her personality was also strong. So the limb was removed. Since then she's bounced back very well and her vim, vigor and spunkiness has returned. Prior to the surgery I had always been very careful about her food and treats. Always steered clear of the junky foods with slick ad campaigns and inflated claims. Along with a high quality kibble, her diet was supplemented with The Honest Kitchen Keen. But, now I needed to reassess her nutrition plan, not only to help support her through the chemotherapy treatments but also because cancer cells love sugars and simple carbohydrates. So I needed to reduce her carb intake. I reached out to the experts at THK and determined Keen's carb content was too high. Switched her to Embark as her primary food, supplemented with Love and Zeal for variety. I think you'll agree based on her picture, she's doing extremely well. All I can say is Thank You to The Honest Kitchen.
