Scout
This last summer Scout went in to have a Fatty tumor removed. Prior to surgery he had his blood work done. The results were very unexpected as he was not acting or doing anything out of the ordinary. One of his liver enzymes was sky high. Like 1600. The normal range is 75-300. So the vet and discussed what we were going to do and he still went ahead and removed the tumor. While he was in surgery, I started to research what the causes could be and how to proceed. That when I found The Honest Kitchen. After he came home I had already purchased a small box. Took him off of cosequin and canidea pure dog food. Added a liver enzyme pill. After 30 days his levels had dropped by 1000 points. To say the vet was shocked was the understatement of the year. He had never seen a drop like that in 30 days. It couldve been a whole host of things but Im sure the food played a key role in scouts health improving so quickly. We all know that he less processed foods we eat the better our health will be. So traditional dog food is probably the most highly processed food in the history of this country. Just think of how much it has to be to last as long as it does without spoiling. Not to mention the preservatives they use that are not human safe to keep it fresh. The bottom line is, Ill never feed another one of my dogs traditional dog kibble or wet canned food ever again.
