One year ago my dog Scruffy had surgery for kidney cancer. He had a tumor on one kidney that weighed 3.8 pounds. He had to have that kidney removed entirely. He had always been a super picky eater, so as he was getting sick, he became pickier and I just thought he was getting that way because he was getting older. When he started urinating blood I knew we had a serious problem. While he was in the hospital after his surgery, I researched what to feed him that might inhibit more cancer. I wanted to give him the best chance he could have to beat the cancer or at least slow it way, way down. A more plant based diet was what I found would help him the most, so I started looking online for dog foods that were pure and plant based and came across The Honest Kitchen and your Preference food. I figured I could keep it low protein when I added in my own ( because he only has one kidney). So I bought some. He loved it. After a couple of boxes of the food, I figured out he was sensitive to the sweet potato in it and switched to Kindly. This has been wonderful for him. Since the first day on your food, he has loved it, begged for it, even, and he is thriving. At a year out, there is no sign of the cancer returning, so we have our fingers crossed.
