Sir Bentley

Determined to avoid allergy and digestive and elimination issues that my other Cocker Spaniels had, I originally put Sir Bentley (aka: Bentley-Boo) on a commercial raw diet after other high quality kibble diets still didn't agree 100% with his digestion. However, our vet wanted us to add a single-grain & food with natural taurine to Bentley's diet as more studies have recently revealed a correlation between certain dietary ingredients and the development of dilated cardiomyopathy (or DCM) in dogs (certain breeds, Cockers among them, are more susceptible to DCM). Months of laborious research later, and about to resign myself to home-cooking his food, I found The Honest Kitchen: an affordable, natural ingredient, single grain food that checked all the boxes for Bentley's needs. Minutes after bringing the first box of The Honest Kitchen Whole Grain Chicken dehydrated into the house, Sir Bentley was not just pawing at the box, but literally chewing the corner of it to get to the food inside! Once rehydrated and served, he dove into it like Thanksgiving dinner! The only downside to THK food is the three minutes needed to let the food absorb the liquid - an eternity for Bentley-Boo!! It works great to stuff and freeze in Kongs, etc., super convenient for travel, and the whole food clusters make great training treats. I love that we have three protein options to choose from (would like to see lamb & fish as well!) to rotate through.
