This food has saved my dogs life. I was like any other dog owner, thinking the prescription dog food my pup was eating was the best for her. She was eating Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal Low Fat Dry Dog Food. The food which I was told was going to be the cure all for her pancreatitis. Rather than helping, It seemed like she was maintaining at a mild discomfort rather than being good or bad. After a few flares ups I decided to look more into what I was feeding her. I was embarrassed and ashamed to realize and admit that I did not realize the food I was feeding her, was actually harming her. The ingredients are not human grade, she was getting by products and the low moisture was keeping her constantly dehydrated. After research, I discovered The Honest Kitchen, I began to feed her the dehydrated Whole Grain Beef recipe. My pup went from being over weight, constant stomach and skin issues to being a healthy weight. She now has soft and shiny skin with a healthy body condition. Toots went from throwing up almost every other week and not being able to eat any rich treats without having negative side effects. To now, she eats the honest kitchens fish treats and salmon food toppers. I never thought that my dog would be able to eat these things without throwing up. It is amazing what diet can do in my dogs life. After being on this new diet for over a year she has not had another flare up of pancreatitis. She has been able to come off of daily acid reducers and stomach medicine. She went from being a senior dog on the decline to a nine year old who has more energy now than when she was a puppy. Her health check at the vet last month showed all her blood work is exceptional. Her kidneys, liver, heart are all good. It is nice to have blood work and labs to back up what I can see on the outside. My dog is thriving on the honest kitchen. I love that the food is hydrated, my dog is getting all the hydration she needs. Looking back on her life, I wish I would have made this switch sooner. Along with the Dehydrated Whole Grain Beef recipe, I occasionally use THK base mixes and I add ground beef, or one of the 99% toppers. I also supplement her food with the bone broth powder, goats milk powder, and I have yet to find a treat of theirs that my dog does not like. I love the high protein value of all their foods and treats. Their 99% meat food toppers are an exceptional addition to any bowl of her food. I could never imagine that my dog would be doing as well as she is. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dog is eating 100% human grade food, food I feel good about giving to my dog. I owe my dogs new found energy and health to honest kitchen. I recommend their food to any dogs especially ones who struggle with sensitive stomachs. I love The Honest Kitchen.
