Zeus ate the same food since I brought him home as a puppy (Royal Canin_Chihuahua). Out of the blue he developed a sudden illness with horribly painful bloody stool, dehydration, fever, no energy. After a long road of recovery and a temporary diet change from the vet he finally stabilized. The diet the vet put him on wasn't meant to be long term so I began my search for a food that would meet all of his needs. In addition to a diagnosis of Colitis he also has elevated liver enzymes so I have to watch which animal products he is receiving that may be counterproductive to his liver function. The Honest Kitchen did not disappoint! He has a healthy looking stool, and has had no symptoms of colitis! I also ordered a can of goats milk powder mix. He loves this as a snack and I love knowing he is getting probiotics to help his belly.
