"My American Akita Bear is notoriously selective, so when he locked eyes on the Cod Crisps and refused to look away, I knew we had a winner. These treats are everything I want in a snack for my big guy — simple, wholesome ingredients with that fish-forward protein he goes absolutely crazy for. The texture is perfect — crispy enough to satisfy but not so hard that I worry about his teeth. And the smell? Let’s just say every dog in the house came running. No artificial anything, no mystery fillers — just clean, quality ingredients I feel good about giving him. As an Akita with sebaceous adenitis, Bear’s skin and coat health is always top of mind for us. The natural omega fatty acids from cod are genuinely supportive for dogs managing this condition, helping to nourish the skin barrier and add that healthy sheen to his coat that SA can sometimes rob them of. What I love most is that the ingredient list reads like something out of a human-grade kitchen — nothing I can’t pronounce, nothing I have to Google. When you’re managing a chronic skin condition in your dog, that transparency in ingredients isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s everything. We’ve tried a lot of treats over the years, but the Cod Crisps have officially earned a permanent spot in our pantry. "We started giving our 2-year-old ShihTzu the Superfood Cod Crisps-Blueberry in early April. We wanted to reduce the amount of carbohydrates she was getting because it seemed to be contributing to her itching a yeast issues. A month later, she is doing much better. For the record, the previous treats we were giving her were good quality coconut-based but they do contain a lot of carbs. I have noticed that the first two bags we opened were crunchier and crisper than the current bag, so it's likely a batch issue."
