MacKenzie started developing epulis in her mouth about 6 years old. This was also the time she started having seizures. After getting the mouth growths biopsied and it was negative, I was told this is just something that happens to her breed. She had some removed but now with the seizures she would not be able to have further surgeries. It was actually the owner of a small, local pet food store who introduced me to Honest Kitchen. It helped immediately with pain while eating and fit into her limited ingredient diet for her skin issues and feet licking. It also helped with other issues as well. She had more energy, stamina, and seemed more calm especially after she ate her 2 meals. It also maintained her weight which had been a big issue when she was on kibble food. Her epulis stopped growing and is stable. She has seizures still and takes medication but that too is stable. She is now almost 13 years old, and according to her dna results, is also extremely inbred and is prone to many of the issues inhumanely bred dogs get. So, for her to still be doing this well is amazing. I give her food a lot of the credit. We joke that she aged in reverse! We also got our a family dog on it too. He absolutely aged in reverse! He was 14 and skinny and his family thought he was dying. He started on Honest Kitchen and transformed! He definitely aged in reverse! He is doing better now than he was a few years ago. He is now 16 and still loving life.
