CasparSchnauzer — Age 2
Before I got Caspar (he is my 3rd mini) I had done research in dog foods and decided that I wanted a more holistic diet approach. Raw food was not the best option for me as I live on a 41' sailboat and had a very small freezer. So my most favorite doggy store, Bow Wow & Woofs @ Birch Bay Square in Blaine, WA helped me decide what direction to go. Heather recommended Honest Kitchen and a couple of other options for me to consider. I researched your website, read reviews and decided that Honest Kitchen was the closest to my requirements of feeding my new baby pup. I wanted to feed my new dog good healthy food, just like I eat. I recognized all the ingredients in the food list and loved the idea that Honest Kitchen was cutting edge technology in healthy dog food. And I could rotate the foods to avoid any sensitivity to allergens. My holistic vet also approved of Honest Kitchen and encouraged me to build upon Honest Kitchen to address other enhancements that she desired to encourage a high immune system. So I add egg, meats, greens to increase more antioxidants, phytonutrients & protein into my Caspar's life. Today we had to see the holistic vet because Caspar has been itching (so typical for miniature schnauzers.) I was concerned that he was developing a food allergy although I suspected more a grass allergy. It was determined that he has a mild grass allergy and no food allergies. Thankfully I can continue with Honest Kitchen and because Honest Kitchen is grain free, Caspar has no grain allergies also! When I prepare his food, I feel like I am giving him real food that he can really enjoy and anticipate. He is not quite 20 months and he is an Honest Kitchen fan! So am I! He goes absolutely crazy for the Beams. I know when it is 8 pm every night! Love, love, love the product line.
