ChipMixed Breed (dog) — Age 1
I adopted Chip in August 2013 from MAS Rescue in Baltimore, Md. He was skinny and had really bad, stinky diarrhea for several weeks. I didn't want to change his food right away because I thought that would traumatize him even further (having been in several foster homes with no forever home in sight). After two weeks of adjusting to a new home, but still with bad diarrhea, I decided to try Honest Kitchen. I knew I wanted to feed him something that had identifiable ingredients, something that had real, balanced nutrition. The first place I looked for food was Howl—a local pet food store that carries the best-available products for pets. I brought home some samples of Honest Kitchen, not ready to commit to the big price tag. And he devoured it! To make a long story short, ever since Chip has been eating Honest Kitchen's "Love" pet food, his diarrhea is gone. In fact, his poop doesn't even really stink and it's easy to 'handle'! Also, his coat is amazing. When I got him, his coat was really rough, it felt like bristle. Now, his coat is really silky and smooth. He's even gained some well-needed pounds. I really do love this product. Don't let the sticker shock get to you. My 4-lb box lasts a month (with some 'Taste of the Wild' dry kibble set out for in-between meals). So overall, with his kibble and the Honest Kitchen 4-lb box, Chip's food costs a little over $2/day. To me, it's worth it to have a healthy, happy dog.
