Joey is an NGRR rescue from Truckee, CA. I got Joey in April 2012. At the time of his rescue from a motel room, flea infested, an unfriendly cat, and owner who had alcohol problems, Joey only weighed in at 45 lbs. He was surrounded by fleas, feces and terribly matted hair. He is a true poster boy for Embark. When he came to me the rescue worker also sent a box of Embark and kibble. At that time he had been cleaned up and checked out by a vet, and weighing about 60 lbs. I continued with the same food, even though I felt it was rather expensive, and it was a good choice on my part. Joey is a sweet, loving boy, who obviously had gone through a rough time in his life.
Joey now weighs in at a hefty 87 lbs. and "we're trying to reduce that a little." I think he goes to the dog park to socialize with the humans, rather than the variety of other dogs ready to play. He has come a long way, but I credit his diet of Embark which has played a large part in his comeback. His coat is very thick and now, after a year and a half, we are finally getting that under control.
