When Poindexter transitioned from puppy food to adult food, he began having issues with refusing food and then becoming so hungry that he would overeat too quickly, which led to bloat and near vomiting type reactions. We tried various kinds and qualities of dried kibble, such as Taste of the Wild, Orijen, and Instinct Raw. Luckily, a pet store opened near our home that sells THK products, and they provided a generous amount of samples for me to use to see if I could get Poindexter to latch onto any particular varieties. He loved/loves the turkey and chicken flavors, but he does not care as much for the fish and beef. Nonetheless, he will eat any of the flavors when mixed with a proper topper or corresponding freeze dried bits. For example, with the beef, I feed him a nugget of Primal beef and with the fish I feed him a nugget of Stella & Chewy's Surf and Turf. This ensures that his food lasts longer and that he eats it readily, and it gives him a great boost of protein. We've also added in raw goat's milk. Dexter is doing wonderfully on primarily THK treats, foods, toppers. I would love to see beef and fish toppers to compliment those foods. But I couldn't be more pleased as I've noticed a decrease in float, less scratching, less tear stains and facial stains, a shinier coat, and more eagerness to eat. WE are definite fans.
