RoxieBulldog — Age 5
Roxie is a character! She's an English Bulldog and like most English Bulldogs she has allergies. Since the day we brought her home when she was 4 months old we have always had her on a grain free diet, feeding her the best food we could afford. Still, she always had allergies. This past spring and summer (of 2015) Rox started having more issues than normal. Her feet became red and inflamed. She was constantly chewing them. She started getting hot spots. And the worst was the ear infections. All of a sudden she couldn't stop itching her ears and would make them bleed. We couldn't get her to stop. She had been eating the same high quality grain-free limited ingredient kibble for the longest time and my husband and I started realizing that maybe she was now developing food allergies to the food we had been feeding her. My husband and I had tossed around the idea of feeding more of a raw food diet and making food ourselves, but it wasn't until Roxie's allergies got so bad that we finally decided to do it. While researching I accidentally found The Honest Kitchen and it fit in with all of my husband's and my beliefs about what a good, quality dog food should be and we loved that it was human grade! We got a few samples of Zeal and Roxie absolutely loved it! So we decided to transition her and her sister (Lani, an Australian Labradoodle) off of the food they had been eating and onto The Honest Kitchen Food. It has been four months and all of Roxie's issues have disappeared! No more hot spots! No more red itchy feet! And best of all no more ear infections!!! And best of all my babies absolutely love this food and look forward to meal times everyday!
